Senior Programmer/Service Technician -- Building Controls

Robinson Solutions Inc. is an industry leader in the development and implementation of comprehensive Facility Management and Maintenance programs. Our growing Automated Systems division is searching for an experienced BAS technician to join our Building Controls team in a leadership role as a Senior Building Controls Service Technician.

Overview of duties:

• Commission and verify BAS system compliance with contract requirements, ensuring equipment is operating in a safe, energy efficient manner.
• Diagnose and repair system failures accurately and expediently on installed building automation systems.
• Provide direction and support in the development of system maintenance programs.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance services on designated customer sites and/or via remote access.
• Maintain positive customer relationships.
• Schedule, develop and provide training to client maintenance personnel in control systems operation specific to the facility as required.
• Promote a strong customer service focus and identify system enhancements to increase overall energy efficiencies and equipment lifespan.
• Program and adjust system functionality to ensure compliance with any sequence of operation modifications approved by the client or their designated representatives.
• Prepare complete documentation and database backups to record any changes in system architecture, sequences of operation, user access permissions, passwords, HMI or graphic interface.
• Complete assigned tasks in a conscientious, professional manner with minimal supervision and display a consistently proactive work ethic.
• On-call after hours on a rotational basis and respond to customer emergencies on an as needed basis.

Overview of requirements:

• A team player, able to work effectively unsupervised and are a self motivated individual.
• Must possess a comprehensive understanding of HVAC equipment and automated control system applications in environments which include (but are not limited to: educational, commercial, recreational, healthcare and automated production facilities.
• Graduate of a related three (3) year technology program at a recognized vocational institute or an associates degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field.
• Minimum of three years direct industry experience or five years related experience in the servicing of electronic and/or mechanical systems within the HVAC industry.
• Familiarity with multiple BAS and security product lines is a definite asset. (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Delta, Andover etc.)
• Demonstrated understanding of network configuration.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills for programming and systems operation.
• Proven ability in taking the initiative to learn new products and systems.

Candidates must have a clean driver’s abstract and demonstrate they are a responsible individual with strong communication skills and a customer service focus. Candidates must be able to work within Canada.
